Bumbershoot cometh

We are off to the Seattle Center (home of the Space Needle) to take part in Bumbershoot 2008. Tonight's main stage show is Beck. But also in our sites are Neko Case, Saul and Lucinda Williams (no relation) , Sherman Alexie, as well as the comedy shows. The comedy shows are always packed but worth the wait in line. We were saddened to hear Zack Galifianakis canceled but I hear David Cross is showing up so Huzzah!. And that's just today, Sunday and Monday promise a reading by William Gibson, music by Lee Scratch Perry , DJ Cheb i Sabbah, and Death Cab for Cutie.

Weatherman says 63 degrees and 30 percent chance of showers. I'll take my shorts and sunscreen. Weathermen, pftttht!

Glitter and Doom

That's the headline for All Songs Considered's Live in Concert coverage of Tom Waits' concert in Atlanta. They are offering the concert, at least 2 hours 21 minutes 41 seconds, for download in mp3 format (at respectable 128kbps 130Mb).

Right now I'm listening to "Down in the Hole" the song used in the opening of HBO's The Wire. If you're a fan, even a little, you should download this. If you're not a fan then I dunno if we can be friends anymore. Just saying.
